Due to the resignation of two Conservative councillors, a by-election is to be held in Haverhill on Thursday 3 May 2018.
Two seats on St Edmundsbury borough council (Haverhill East and North Wards) will be contested, and two seats on Haverhill Town Council (East and North Wards).
David Smith, our local CLP chair, will be running for Town and Borough in Haverhill East and Martin Jerram will be running for both seats in Haverhill North.
These elections are a chance to send a powerful message to this weak and divided Conservative government.
After eight years of Conservative cuts in vital services, failed privatisations and falling living standards, it's time for real change.
The Tories are slashing the local services upon which you and your family depend, from policing to health and social care. They are starving councils of cash in order to pay for tax cuts for the richest.
Labour will rebuild our communities and transform our country for the many not the few. That change can start now.
If you’re not going to be here on the day then don’t forget to apply for a postal vote!
